The University of Michigan is looking for a dynamic stroke neurologist with excellent inter-personal skills to Direct the Stroke Program. The Stroke Program Director has critical roles in clinical, educational and scholarship missions. The University of Michigan is a Joint Commission Comprehensive Stroke Center with repeated Gold Plus quality designations from the American Heart Association. A rapidly growing tele-stroke operation along with expanding clinical partnerships in the region provide exciting opportunities. The Stroke Program is home to an active ACGME accredited Vascular Neurology residency. The current seven stroke neurologists have a large NIH funded portfolio of research from molecular biology through health services research. An important part of the job is the collaboration with other University of Michigan departments including emergency medicine, neurosurgery, radiology, physical medicine and rehabilitation, vascular surgery, cardiology and internal medicine. Qualifications include Associate or Professor rank, board certification in Vascular Neurology, a National reputation for excellence, and demonstrated leadership skills.
