Staff Clinician

Advanced Cardiovascular Imaging Laboratory/Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Branch (CPB)

The Division of Intramural Research (DIR) of the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) is seeking to recruit an outstanding Staff Clinician to assist existing research efforts and expand new research goals for the Laboratory of Cardiovascular CT in the Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Branch (CPB). There are strong interactions with a wide range of independent research groups, and the position offers exceptional opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration within and outside of the NIH. The position additionally involves teaching and mentoring of trainees within the program.

The existing faculty in the NHLBI DIR is an outstanding group of internationally recognized biomedical researchers covering a wide range of basic and clinical research topics (please see complemented by the other research institutes within the DIR (please see

The successful candidate should have a strong track record of achievement, expertise and experience in the areas of cardiovascular computed tomography (CCT), cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR), imaging of rare diseases, and research protocol design and implementation. Applicants should have an in-depth understanding of the technical requirements and challenges related to CCT and CMR imaging. Experience with vasodilator stress testing, translational work and the ability to work collaboratively with others are additional highly valued traits for this position. Applicants must have an M.D., must be licensed to practice in the United States, must be Board-Certified in Cardiovascular Diseases, and must have Level III CMR experience and Board-Certification in CCT. Salary is commensurate with research experience and accomplishments.
